Domestic Care & Cleaning

Maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment so you can focus on what matters most.

How ClearStep can help

At ClearStep, we help you maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable home because where you live is the foundation of your independence and wellbeing.

Our domestic care and cleaning services are delivered under the NDIS Assistance with Daily Life support category, in line with the guidance of the National Disability Insurance Agency and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

What is NDIS domestic assistance?

Assistance with Daily Life is a support category in your Core Supports budget. It is for assistance or supervision of personal tasks during day-to-day life that enable the participant to live as independently as possible.

This includes help around the home where the participant is unable to undertake tasks due to their disability, such as assistance with cleaning and laundry.

At ClearStep, we deliver these supports directly in your home, tailored entirely to your individual needs and NDIS goals.

How support is delivered

Support can be provided in different ways, including hands-on assistance, supervision, or skill development to enable participants to manage these tasks independently in the future.

We work with you to build a cleaning routine that suits your lifestyle, your schedule, and your goals, whether that means regular weekly visits, fortnightly cleans, or one-off deep cleans.

Bedroom & Living Areas

Making and changing beds with fresh linen, organising personal spaces, vacuuming upholstery and mattresses, and tidying wardrobes with your direction.

Laundry Support

Support with washing and drying clothing, folding, organising the laundry room, ironing, and putting clothes away where disability makes these tasks difficult.

Outdoor & External Areas

Basic outdoor tasks such as sweeping paths, clearing leaves or debris, and light yard tidying where they improve safety and accessibility.

Minor Household Maintenance

Minor household tasks that help maintain a safe home environment, such as keeping pathways clear. Major repairs are not included.

Assistive Equipment Cleaning

Cleaning support rails, bathroom safety tools, and general assistive aids so equipment remains safe, comfortable, and easy to use.

Building your independence

The goal of daily living support is not just to have tasks done for you. It is to help you build skills and independence over time, with the right level of assistance tailored to your abilities. Our support workers work alongside you wherever possible, encouraging confidence and capability at your own pace.

Who is eligible?

NDIS domestic assistance is available to participants who have funding allocated in their Core Supports budget under Assistance with Daily Life. This support is for people whose disability impacts their ability to complete household tasks safely or independently. You can be self-managed or plan-managed.

Need help choosing the right support?

We can talk through your goals, your plan, and the kind of day-to-day support that would be most useful. ClearStep supports both self-managed and plan-managed participants across Melbourne.
